Andaman and Nicobar Command Launches Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme

Port Blair, May 03: Andaman and Nicobar Command, launched an Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme on remote islands/ locations of the Andaman and Nicobar region with the aim to establish communication with veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and their dependents. The programme is being undertaken in four phases.

            Phase 1 of the programme at North and Middle Andamans was inaugurated by Commodore T Sugreev, Commanding Officer INS Jarawa, on 28 Apr at Diglipur. Commander Sanjay Solwat from HQ ANC, Commandant Vivek Kumar, Officiating District Commander, DHQ 9, Dr. Siddharaju, Chief Medical Officer, Community Health Centre, Diglipur, 44 veterans and their dependents from Diglipur, Mayabunder and Rest Camp were present for the event.
A medical screening camp along with dental and ayurvedic check-up was also organized during the event.
            In the subsequent phases, the ANC team will reach out to veterans based at
Little Andaman, Car-Nicobar, Kamorta, Nancowry and Great Nicobar Islands. The outreach programme highlights ANC’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of our veterans and their dependents in remote places.
