Anti-Narcotics Police Station, with Dog Squad Assistance, Executes Successful Raid, Seizes 1.005 KG of Ganja from VSI, Airport, Port Blair and One Person Arrested

Port Blair, Apr 28: In line with its unwavering commitment to combat drug-related activities, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station with the assistance of Dog Squad, CID executed a targeted anti-narcotics operation on April 27, 2024. Acting on a specific intelligence input, Police Team from Anti-Narcotics Police Station consisting of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO Anti-Narcotics, Police Station, SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, ASI Sanjay Yadav, HC/1176 Sharfudeen, PC/1173 Ratan Das, PC/2772 Nandita Mistry, PC/2871 Vishal Kumar and PC/2836 M. Raja Rao and Team from Dog Squad consisting of HC/1212 M Shyam & PC/167 Ashim Ray under the supervision of Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics intercepted one person namely Biswajit Mondal S/o Mr. Mahadeb Mondal (30) yrs Pvt labour R/o Pathergadda No.4 permanent resident of 4 No. Pschim Para, Gram Bose, Basanti, South 24 Parganas-743312, who had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 27/04/2024 by Vistara flight. Total 1.005 Kgs of Ganja which was clandestinely concealed in his bag, was seized from him and the said person was arrested on the spot observing all codal formalities. 

A case under relevant section of NDPS Act-1985 has been registered at Anti-Narcotics Police Station and investigation is in progress. 

The raid took place under the overall supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP (CID), A&N Islands.
