Port Blair, Mar 13: Br. MSME-DFO Port Blair in association with Laghu Udyog Bharati, Port Blair & ACCI organized one Awareness programme on MSME competitive Lean scheme at Hotel Lemon Tree on 12.03.2024. Mr. Devender Yadav, Director, Airport Authority of India,  A & N Islands was the Chief Guest of the programme. Mr. Surendra Prahladka, President, ACCI ,  Mr. A.L.Verma, President, Laghu Udyog Bharati, A & N Islands Mr. S R Sharma, Mr. Rahul Agrawal & other members of Laghu Udyog Bharti were also present in the programme. As a technical resource person Mr. Debanu Das Mahapatra, Lean Consultant, Kolkata has taken the session. Mr. Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Director   Br. MSME-DFO Port Blair coordinated the programme. In his keynote speech, the Airport Director said most of the MSME is driven by the talent of persons and families. This assumption is quite impractical those generations over generations family members will have the same kind of interest and talent in the same field. Therefore MSMEs are most vulnerable on two fronts. One is Succession Planning and other is working methodologies/work practice.

On succession planning my thought is that the success of a business is more important than who is reading the business. We should be open to inducting talent from outside the family also for leading the business. On working methodology my idea is we are inbuilt champions of Jugaad methodology. Here I want to convey that Jugaad is never the best solution. If we do not adopt the best solution, there are very few chances to get the best outcome. We have to explore and adopt the best proven methodologies in the world and save our time and resources in reinventing the wheel, said Mr. Yogesh Kumar.

Lean methodology is also one of the best proven methodologies to identify and reduce wastage. In business money saved is also equivalent to the money earned.
