DC (N&MA) Convenes Meeting Addressing Water Supply Concern In The District

Port Blair, Apr 10: In response to the growing concern over water supply challenges, the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman convened a meeting today, to review the status of drinking water supply in the district with officials of APWD. The meeting commenced with an overview of the current water supply situation, highlighting areas of concern, challenges and potential risks associated with the prevailing conditions. DC(N&MA) emphasized to ensure adequate and clean drinking water for all. APWD officials were directed to depute additional tankers for ensuring water supply as per schedule and come up with an action plan on various strategies and initiatives focusing on both short-term and long-term measures to mitigate the water supply crisis. Further, they were directed to take up regular repair and maintenance of pump houses and ensure no leakages on the distribution pipelines. Similar review meetings to assess the situation will be held weekly.
