Police Station Hutbay Seizes 1.031 Kgs Crystalline Methamphetamine

Port Blair, Apr 10: The team of Police Station Hutbay has once again proved its mettle in the ongoing war against Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances resulting in recovery of 1.031 Kg crystalline methamphetamine.

On 09/04/2024, credible information was received from an unknown person that someone had hidden crystalline methamphetamine near Nallah Mundi Jungle, Little Andaman. Subsequently, a team was swiftly constituted of SI Somen Kr. Haldar, SHO PS Hut Bay, SI Regan Isaac, HCs Arvind Kerketta, Victor Dung Dung, PC Anbu Kumar, CT Narayan Mondal. The team reached the spot and made an extensive search in the area. During Jungle search, 01 suspicious packet was found lying hidden in the bushes and on checking by drug detection kit the substance was found to be positive for crystalline methamphetamine. The recovered crystalline methamphetamine weighed 1.031 kg and the packet was sealed after observing all codal formalities at the spot. 

The entire raid took place under the supervision of Mr. Manasvi Vashistha, DANIPS, SDPO Swaraj Dweep and under the overall direction of Mrs. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. 

The general public is hereby informed that production/ manufacturing/cultivation, possession, sale, purchasing, transport; storage or consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance is a punishable offense. So, everyone is requested to avoid any kind of interaction with illicit drugs and share information pertaining to any such crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-236641. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
