Recovery of IMFL Bottles from Passenger of M.V Coral Queen

Port Blair, Mar 20: On 19/03/19, on receipt of information from the Master of the vessel of M.V Coral Queen about carrying of liquor by some passengers in a clandestine manner, a Police team of PS Campbell Bay consisting of Inspr. Vishal Ram, SHO PS Campbell Bay, HC/B. Praveen, HC/Ashok Kullu, HC/V.C. Shekar and PC/TapsiDhali, PC/ManjulaWagh, PC/Sumati, PC/M. SenthilKumar searched all the passengers and their baggage during the disembarkation at Campbell Bay jetty and found one person namely S. Prabhu (34) yrs R/o RPRS Colony carrying 08 Nos. 750 ml IMFL bottles in his baggage. As such he was arrested under relevant sections of law. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Sh. S.A. Rashid, SDPO (C/Bay)

The staff of Police Station Campbell Bay is continuously doing raids and making arrest and seizure of illicit liquor. After the declaration of LokSabha Election i.e from 11/03/19, a total of 07 persons have been arrested and 28 liters illicit liquor has been seized and 150 liters lehan (country liquor furnace) have been destroyed so far, said Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District in a press release.
