Port Blair, Apr 02: On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, CRC A&N Islands collaborated with AYUSH Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, “A Homeopathy Health camp” and “A Talent Show by children with Autism & Special needs” on 2nd April 2024 at Seminar Hall, CRC Brookshabad. This year theme for the World Autism Day 2024 is “Colour”
The gathering was welcomed by Mrs. Sumithamol, Director, CRC A&N Islands. Dr. Manavika Detha, Medical Officer Incharge, Dr. Krishnan Kutty, Medical Officer (Homeopathy) and Dr. Kritika, Medical Officer (AYUSH) honoured the program with their speech about Autism and the possible necessary interventions must be taken by the parents in early years was inspiring and informative to the parents group.
On the same occasion World Homoeopathy Day 2024 (10th April) also has been celebrated by conducting “A Homeopathy Health camp” for children with autism. A team of doctors screened, assessed the children and prescribed medicines for their behaviors and hyperactivity.
The event included a talent show highlighting the remarkable talents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) like recall State and capitals, Dance performance and Speech etc., to honour and cherish the diverse spectrum of abilities and experiences in the autism community. The autistic children were participated enthusiastically and energetic, during the programme and encouraged by the crowd. They were distributed with gifts sponsored by AYUSH Hospital, Port Blair. Mr.Jeo Paul, Asst.prof Clinical Psychology delivered the vote of thanks.
