Port Blair, Sept 06: The Andaman and Nicobar State Committee of the CITU has organized a remembrance meeting today evening at Crusade House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair to mark the 23rd Death Anniversary of Comrade N. Vasudevan, veteran trade union leader of these islands.
Addressing the gathering, B. Chandrachoodan, General Secretary of the CITU A & N State Committee recalled the contribution of Comrade N. Vasudevan towards the working class movement in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He said that Comrade Vasudevan had dedicated his life for the cause of government employees, workers and other sections of the toiling masses.

Comrade N. Vasudevan was a Counsellor in the erstwhile Pradesh Council leading a coalition Left & Democratic Front from 1990 to 1994 besides being the first non-Congress Chairman of the Port Blair Municipal Board. He was the Secretary of the CPI (M) A & N State Committee from 1988 till his death in 1997.
