Port Blair, Jun 21: The District Administration, Nicobar District, AYUSH Unit of BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Car Nicobar jointly observed the 8th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2021 at Priyadarshini Auditorium, Tee-Top Sea beach, Govt. Primary School, Kenyuka, Sports Complex Big Lapathy and BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar.
About 405 people involving villagers, youths and govt. Staff and officers of district administration participated at different venues. At the main function held at Priyadarshini Auditorium Mr. Yash Choudhary, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar was the chief guest and while Mr. John Levi, Deputy vice chief of Tribal Council, Car Nicobar was guest of honour.
On the occasion, other senior officers Mr. Anwar Mosa, Medical Superintendent, BJR Hospital, Mr.HemsonIsacc, Executive Engineer, APWD, Mr. Moses Joseph, EE, APWD and Mr.AlphonceToppo, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK, Car Nicobar was also present.
Addressing the gathering the chief guest said yoga is very useful for a healthy life and should be adopted in our daily lives. The chief guest and other guests were inaugurated by lighting the lamp on the very occasion. Mr. Mangal Bhagat, Yoga Instructor of BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar led the yoga performer on the occasion. The chief guest and other guests also participated in the yoga.
On the other hand, Mr. Anand Vardhan Mishra, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Car Nicobar was the chief guest at Govt. Primary School, Kenyuka and Mr. H. Nathaniel, Education Officer, Car Nicobar is also present there and they also participated in the yoga. Mr.ManjeetSheoran, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District was the chief guest at Tee-Top Sea beach where he also participated in the yoga. Mr. DN Choudhary, Training Incharge, ITI, Arong was also the chief guest at Sports Complex Big Lapathy and he also participated in the yoga along with the youths.
