Port Blair, June 27: 24th National Senior SQAY Martial Art Championship 2023-24 concluded at Gurukul, Haryana on 26th June 2023. Islands SQAY Martial Art Association (ISMAA) under the esteemed leadership of Grand Master Dr. M D Selvam (Lt. Governor Commendation Award) also participated in the event representing Andaman & Nicobar Islands along with 18 others States/UTs across India during this two day extravaganza comprising more than 400 emerging Sr. athletes in various events.
The Islands team won a total of 31 medals with 20 Gold and 11 Bronze thereby claiming 3rd positions in the overall standings.
Mr. R Dinesh of Andaman & Nicobar Islands won the Champions of Champion trophy in the senior men’s category while Ms. Sadhna Pandey of Madhya Pradesh won in senior women’s category.
The participants were awarded with medals and certificates by the Guest of Honor by Mr. Rajkumar Garg, Pradhan Gurukul and appreciated their efforts and also wished the selected candidates for the upcoming National Games to be held in Goa later this year.
