47 out of 15000 people have been identified having ILI symptoms

Port Blair, Sept 18: In its bid to contain the further spread of the COVID-19 infection in a targeted manner, the District Administration has already identified approx. 15000 persons of co-morbid people across the South Andaman District.

As a part of first round of surveillance out ofapprox. 15000 co-morbid persons, approx. 150 ILI symptomatic persons were identified. They were given timely medical intervention and were regularly monitored by the field staff.

Now, the second round is being carried out after 14 days of First Round – 2 level surveillance wherein out of approx. 15000 co-morbid, 47 people have been identified having ILI symptoms.

The saturation levels and body temperature of these suspects are being monitored closely by deputing field staffs such as ASHA workers and ANMs. This will help in early detection and better treatment.

Approximately 4200 medicine kits have been distributed till date amongst the COVID patients and whoever is quarantined as ILI cases, on demand basis. The District Administration is active on the field to deal with any sort of contingency.

The active participation of one and all in this fight and ensure two GOLDEN PRINCIPLES of COVID-19:- (1) Wear masks properly (2) Maintain social distancing/2 gazkidoori.
