A&N Admin to organize special covid vaccination camps at South Andaman

Port Blair, Aug 18: In order to strengthen the fight against COVID-19 and to achieve the 100% target to administer the booster/ precautionary dose of COVID vaccination, special camps will be organized. A meeting in this regard was conducted under the Chairmanship of Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (SA) with all stakeholders including government departments, NGOs, various associations including AATO, Contractors, Hotels, etc.

            A schedule has been prepared ward/ Panchayat wise and department wise with the coordination of all stakeholders to ensure vaccination in a time-bound manner.

            A special vaccination drive was conducted at Ward No. 1, PBMC Auditorium, Ward No. 7, Telugu Basti by the District Administration in coordination with PRI members, PBMC Chairman, Ward Councillors, Field Visit was also conducted at these places by Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with PRI members, ADM (SA) and SDM (SA).

            The special vaccination drives will be conducted on 19th August 2022 at various places in South Andaman.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS requested the general public to vaccinate themselves at the nearest vaccination centres and also requested to avail the benefit of the mobile vaccination camp at their doorstep.

            The DC (SA) also requested all Departments of the A&N Administration and Commercial Establishments of the South Andaman to get their staff and their family vaccinated by conducting special camps in their respective department in coordination with the District Administration to ensure 100% vaccination in the Islands.
