District AdminSA organizes Revenue Camp Court with the theme “PrashasanAapkeDwaar” at GP Beodnabad

Port Blair, Jun 26: The South Andaman District Administration under the direction and leadership of the Chief Secretary of A&N Islands organized a Revenue Camp Court with the theme “PrashasanAapkeDwaar” at Beodnabad Gram Panchayat on 25th June 2022. Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary (RD) & DC (SA) chaired the event along with Secretary (Labour)/ADM(SA), Secretary (IT/TW/S&T), Chief Executive Officer (ZP)/SDM(SA), Director (RD/CS&CA), Director (Power/Agriculture), Director (SW), Director (IP&T), Director (CA), Director (Health), Director (Education), Director (Transport) and Superintending Engineer, PRI.

            The camp was also attended by officers of various line departments such as Health including senior doctors, Civil Supplies, Social Welfare, Industries, Transport, Power, Rural Development, Agriculture, Civil Aviation, Tourism and Fisheries.

            The camp was attended by a large number of villagers and their representatives raised various major issues related to the revenue department which included (1) sub-division of land, wherein there is a lack of consensus among the cotenants (2) formal transfer of rights in respect of land acquired through agreement (3) earth cutting and development of land for bonafide uses (4) development of areas for common pubic purposes (5) issues related to regularization of land and diversion of land for dwelling purposes.

            Issues related to Civil Supply Department, wherein the villagers requested for organizing a camp for Aadhar card registration and Ration Card. The DC(SA) issued directions to the concerned to organize such a camp for the benefit of the villagers. Matters and doubts related to old age pension-related schemes were raised by the villagers and the Director (SW) addressed their queries.

            The villagers requested improvement in the functioning of the sub-center and requested the engagement of an ambulance to mitigate any emergent situation. The Director (Health) assured to examine the issues on a priority basis.

            The issues related to Pradhan MantriAwasYojana (PMAY) and the improvement of rural roads were also taken up by the local populace and the doubts and clarifications sought by them were discussed by the Director (RD) and assured early and prompt redressal of their grievances. The issue related to the increase in the number of non-A/c buses in the route was also taken up by the local populace for transportation of the agricultural produces, the DC(SA) issued the spot direction to the Director (Transport) to look into the matter and do the needful at the earliest, further it was requested that the timing of the private buses plying in the route needs to be modified to for the benefit of the residents.

            The Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Beodnabad requested to provide atleast one PCR vehicle on round a clock basis to keep a check on Law-and-Order situation on the NH stretch connecting Beodnabad to Chidityatapu.

            The DC (SA) gave a patient hearing to all their grievances and assured them of its early disposal. He gave on-the-spot directions to the Tehsildar and officers of other line Departments to take up the issues concerning them and to dispose of them at the earliest.

            The applicants who had applied for various e-Tehsil services like Income Certificate, Local Certificate and Senior Citizen Certificate, OBC, Family Members, Resident Certificates and Smart Islander cards, etc., were handed over the same during the programme. Besides this, specific instructions were also issued to the concerned revenue field functionaries in response to various petitions filed by the residents of the village.

            The PRI members and the general public thanked the District Administration for organizing the “PrashasanAapkeDwaar” camp at the grass-root level and for its effort to address the core issues. The DC (SA) also requested the Revenue field staff and the line departments to follow up on all the matters that were placed before the camp. He assured the gathering that the District Administration is committed to the overall development of the Panchayat and urged the people to feel free to reach out to his office for redressal of grievances. More such types of camps will be organized in each Gram Panchayat on Saturdays which senior officials of the Administration shall attend.
