Port Blair, Oct 14: The Non Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands is organising an Evening Mass Dharna at Tiranga Park, Port Blair on 15.10.2019. The Dharna programme will be inaugurated by Com. B Chandrachoodan, General Secretary, CITU at 4 pm. Similar programmes will be organised by the Association all over the Islands on 15.10.2019 as part of nation-wide agitation called by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees and Workers, New Delhi. The Confederation’s call for nation-wide agitation is to press the 10-point Charter of Demands submitted to Govt. of India. The demands includes (i)Scrapping New Contributory Pension Scheme (ii)Settlement of 7th CPC issues (iii)Filling-up 7 lakhs vacant posts (iv) Regularisation of GDS and all Casual/Contract employees (v)Withdrawal of the draconian FR 56(j) and stop compulsory retirement, etc.
The Association has also submitted a Charter of various local demands of employees working under A & N Administration and demanded early settlement.
