Port Blair, Sep 24: Health Mela was organized at PHC Billiground as a part of under Ayushman Bhava Campaign on 23rd September 2023. Mr. ASHISH JOON, DANICS Assistant Commissioner Mayabunder (HQ), the chief guest on the occasion inaurated the mela by lighting the lamp in presence of CMO, PHC Billiground, GDMO Ayush, Tehsildar MB, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Harinagar, Gram Panchayat Swadesh Nagar, District Programme Manager, DHS, N&MA, and other Health Staff.
The programme started with welcome song presented by ASHA workers and ANMs. During the occasion Nukkad natak was displayed by ASHA workers on the theme “Importance of breastfeeding and techniques of breastfeeding. NCD screening was also added for Healthy lifestyle
Dr. Shailaja P CMO, PHC Billiground welcomed the gathering, and briefed about The Ayushman Bhava Campaign along with its components comprising Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Mela & Ayushman Sabha and urged the public to cooperate and take the advantage of activities being carried out during the mela.
The Chief Guest while speaking on the occasion informed about the benefits of Health Melas and urged the people to take the facilities of screening of diseases and that prevention is better than cure. He further informed the importance of complete immunization on time, as well as choose healthy habits for good lifestyle.
During the programme the following activities were organised viz. creation of Ayushman Bharath Card to all eligible beneficiaries, Health ID generation, conducted Non Communicable Disease (NCD) screening, and administered Organ Donation Pledge, TB Screening, and Yoga. More than 200 participants participated in the Mela.
