Port Blair, Aug 14: The District Level Yuva Utsav: India @2047 was jointly organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kamorta and Local Administration, Nancowry on 12/08/2023 at Indira Park with the five resolves (Panch Pran) of Amrit Kaal – Goal of developed India, to remove any trace of colonial mindset, take pride in our roots, unity and sense of duty among citizens. Various events: Young Artists contest- painting, Young Writers contest- Poem, Photography workshop, Declamation Contest and Cultural Festival – Group events were organized. About 200 youths from villages and schools participated. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Shiv Singh Meena (Danics), Assistant Commissioner, Nancowrie . The function was attended by Mrs. Nisha wife of Assistant Commissioner, Mrs. Aysha Majid, CTC, Nancowrie, Mr. Charles, CTC, Kamorta, Mrs. Bandana Chakarborty, Assistant Engineer, APWD, Mr. Anil, Assistant Engineer APWD, Mr. Moses, Assistant Education Officer, Nancowrie, Dr. Sabita Wati, Senior Vety. Surgeon, Mr. Aboobakar, BDO, Nancowrie, Mr. Abdul Rashed, Forest Ranger, Kamorta ,other officers and village captains.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appealed to the youths to give their contribution in Nation Building activities and also stressed on the preservation of their own tradition.
Certificates for each event were distributed among participants of 1st position, 2nd position and 3rd position. Earlier Mr. Alphonce Toppo, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK, Kamorta briefed about the Yuva Utsav and proposed a vote of thanks at last.
