Lt Governor conferred “On the Spot Commendation” to young Island girl Aksa Abraham

Port Blair, July 01: Today on the occasion of the National Doctor’s Day 2021, recognizing her noble act, Ms. Aksa Abraham was awarded with LG’s Commendation by Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Lt Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency at Raj Niwas for her selfless act.      

As the world battles the most challenging scenario in the form of pandemic, yet there are moments that make life worth living and keeps humanity alive. Exhibiting this humanitarian gesture, Ms. Aksa Abraham, D/o Ajai Kumar (Seaman in Directorate of Shipping Services), resident of Junglighat, Port Blair, a student of BA First Year, JNRM voluntarily proceeded to donate blood on an emergency request from a critically ill patient unknown to her, needing her rare AB-ve blood type while forgoing her vaccination slot.

This noble act exhibited by Ms. Aksa is quite inspiring and sets an example to motivate many youths to extend their helping hands in times of need of community.

    Mr. Kulanand Joshi, Secretary to LG, Mr. Ram Niwas Sharma, Secretary (Health), Dr. Avijit Roy, Nodal Officer (COVID) and Dr. Rajeev Ghosh, In-charge (Vaccination) were also present on the occasion.
