Port Blair, Jun 22: United Muay Thai Association India (UMAI) organized a National Muay Thai Championship 2022 in association with Sports Muay Thai Association Madhya Pradesh from 16th June 2022 to 22nd June 2022 at Dewas Madhya Pradesh.
More than 800 athletes participated from 25 states in this Tournament including 200 Officials and Coaches from all over India. Amongst them, 06 athletes represented Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the National Championship 2022 in Madhya Pradesh and have made the Islanders proud by achieving the medals under various weight categories.
These students belong to the Champions Zone of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A total of 03 Gold, 02 Silver and 01 Bronze medals under various weight categories were won by the Islanders.
V. Trilochan, Silver medal in sub-junior under 20 kg under 10 years; Karthick Raj, gold medal in 91 kg under 23 years; Rengarajan S, silver medal in 63.5 kg under senior elite; M. Deepak Krishnan secured a bronze medal in 71 kg under senior elite; N. JagadekhaVerma secured a gold medal in 91 kg under senior elite and Soma Sunderam secured a gold medal in Wai Kuru.
