Port Blair, Jun 14: The Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, A&N Islands has requested the Secretary, Tribal Welfare, A&N Administration to install the framed photo of the tribal freedom Lord Birsa Munda in all the offices under A&N Administration.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary, Tribal Welfare, A&N Administration, Mr. Ram Kumar Singh, Head of Province Propaganda and Publicity, VKA has mentioned that the GoI, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared the 15th November, birth anniversary of Birsa Munda as “Tribal Pride Day”. It is to glorify the Tribal Movement initiated by Birsa Munda in the Indian Independence Movement.
Therefore, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, A&N Islands has requested to install the photo frame of Lord Birsa Munda at all the offices of Tribal Councils, AJVS, all colleges, higher educational institutions, Youth hostels, sports establishments, Social Tribe Centres, etc before the celebration of “Tribal Pride Day”.
