Various Projects Executed under AMRUT Mission by PBMC to Enhance the Livability Index of Citizens

Port Blair, Sept 04: Port Blair city was selected under AMRUT along with other cities with a mission to provide and improve water supply, Storm water drainage system and development of Green space for which MoHUA has approved 79 projects covering the components of water supply, drainage system and green spaces. So far Port Blair Municipal Council has completed 67 projects which includes 03 open air Gym at Gandhi Park, Marina Park and Sunder colony are made functional, 01 water reservoir at dairy farm is made operational, approximately 25 kilometers of water distribution network system covering 17 wards are laid, 2 kilometers of storm water drainage system in 5 wards are constructed. These works will benefit approximately 23000 households covering 17 wards across the city. All the existing Street Lights have been replaced to LED lights covering 14441 poles across the entire city of Port Blair.

PBMC is targeted to improvise City’s Livability index by completing all the ongoing projects by March 2021.
