Port Blair, Feb 13: Under the provision of Village Cluster sports Meet -2023, Nehru YuvaKender, Port Blair has organized a Knockout Kabaddi Tournament for boys andgirls at Lapa Tekri, Dandaspoint in associated with Panchayat Samiti,Ferrargunj and inaugurated on 4th February2023 and concluded on 12 Feb. 2023. In the final match of Women’s Kabaddi which was played between Varsha Group vs Pryas Youth Club and Varsha group Wonthe tournament with 52 points against pryas youth club 47 point and inthe men’s Kabaddi Tournament played between St. Joseph Youth club vs. Bluewhale Group and St joseph won the final match with 64 points – 59 pointsof score line.
On the occasion of the Final Tournament, Mrs. D. Padmawathi, Pramukh, PanchayatSamiti, Ferrargunj was the chief guest. While Mr. Devanand Pathak, SHO, PSOrrabraj was guest of Honor and Mr. J. Venkat Ram Babu, Pradhan, GramPanchayat Wimberleygunj was a Special Guest. Mr. PA Safudeen, Zila Parishad,Member, Mr. Y. Venkenswar, Gram Panchyat Pradhan, NamunaGhar, Mr. AnandRaj Amrit, Pradhan Gram Panchayat, Tushnabad, Mrs. Anolika Biswas,Panchayat samiti Member, Colinpur, Mrs. Amrita Barala, Panchayat samitiMember Bindaraban and Dr Sunita Patil President Youth ClubPanighat were present to grace the occasion while Mr. Simson, Up Pramukh,Panchayat Samiti, Ferrargunj coordinated the program.
Both the men’s and women’s Winners and Runner-up conferred withmedals by the Chief Guest and others guests were present. Also awarded toall supporting offices and youths, those are voluntarily extended theirsupport for the grand success of the tournament.
Earlier, a cultural program was also organized on this occasion, whichwas presented by the youth of youth club, finally on behalf of Nehru YuvaKendra, Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas, proposed vote of thanks to PanchayatSamiti, Ferrargunj, Gram Panchayat NamunaGhar, all guests were present, allDepartments -APWD, Electricity, police Dept , Panchayats, also thanks to allmembers of St Joseph Youth club voluntarily supported, all PRI members,all participants, all volunteers and all villagers were witnessed theprogram as a huge crowd. Also proposed special thanks to Mr. Simsondevan, UpPramukh, Ferrargunj Samity coordinated the program in a good manner.
