Port Blair, Jun 07: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP and Former State President BJP A&N Islands has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to repair the road from Neil Kendra Bazar to Nature Beach in Shaheed Dweep.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Vishal Jolly stated that the elected PRI members of Neil Kendra Gram Panchayat and villagers requested to repair the road from Neil Kendra Bazar to Nature Beach which was badly damaged with huge potholes along the entire stretch. The villagers and daily commuters are facing great inconvenience and having a tough time with their daily travel, transportation and livelihood, especially during this rainy season.
He mentioned that the Island is also a famous and designated tourist spot a wherein good number of tourists arrive from the mainland and they visit various tourist spots to witness the natural beauty of this Island, but due to the miserable condition of the road, the visiting tourists expressed their displeasure and discomfort. As a result, the number of tourists visit drastically declined to this particular spot. As maximum villagers here are depending upon tourism activities for their income and livelihood are also facing problems due to the decline in the tourism activities.
Accordingly, Mr. Jolly pointed out the gravity of the situation and requested the Chief Secretary to give necessary directions to the concerned authorities to repair the road in the best interest and welfare of the villagers.
