ACCI Constructs 3 Passenger Shelter at Havelock

Port Blair, Dec 20: Consequent on the extension of the existing Jetty at Havelock the necessity of shelter to the visiting tourists/passengers was felt as there was no shelter for the visiting tourists/passengers from rain & sun at Jetty. On the request of the Port Management Board, the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry took the initiative to construct 3 passenger shelter/waiting sheds at Havelock at a total cost of Rs.40 lakhs and handed over to the Port Management Board. These waiting sheds were constructed by the Members of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the space available will be utilized for advertisement. ACCI will also maintain these sheds. The Port Management Board has kind enough to grant permission for construction of these waiting sheds at Havelock Jetty. This will certainly become great relief to the tourists visiting Havelock.
