ANC to Celebrate Parakram Parv

Port Blair, Sept 26: To honour the sacrifice and valour of Armed Forces, Andaman Nicobar Command will celebrate Parakram Parv from 28th September 2018. Mega celebrations will be organized as part of Parakram Parv to mark the second anniversary of surgical strike on 29 September 2018, all across India. ANC will also organize various events to mark occasion and join the nationwide celebrations.
The major attractions during the celebrations will include an exhibition at Netaji Subhash Stadium, Ship visit at Naval Wharf and display of aircraft at INS Utkrosh.
In Andaman and Nicobar Islands the Army, Navy and Air Force components of the Command in a show of jointmanship, will carry out demonstrations and put up display of their weapons and equipment. Videos of operations carried out by the three forces will be played at the Parakram Parv exhibition, which will be inaugurated at Netaji Stadium by Maj Gen Beji Mathews, Chief of Staff, Andaman Nicobar Command at 9 AM on 28 September 2018. During the exhibition various attractions that will be conducted throughout the day include slithering of Marine Commandos (MARCOS) from a Helicopter, attack on a ground target by Army Special Unit, Band display etc. For the public to share their emotions a white wall for writing and selfie corners would also be set up at the exhibition.
All are invited to visit the Netaji Stadium, Naval Wharf and INS Utkrosh from 09 AM to 12 PM and from 02 PM to 05 PM on 28 September and 29 September 2018. Entry to the Naval Wharf would be from the Haddo gate and to INS Utkrosh from the old guard room gate near Carbyn Chowk.
Additionally, Indian Naval museum ‘Samudrika’ will be open to public free of cost from 27 Sep to 30 Sep 18. All schools are also requested to organise visits to the various venues for the Parakram Parv educate the students on the valour of our Armed Forces. All the veterans of the islands are also invited to attend and grace the occasion.
