Port Blair, May 05: In order to facilitate general public especially tourists and local residents availing air journey, buses or ferries while going to or coming from mainland or outer Islands, the Transport Department with a vision for implementation of Multi Modal Transport in the Islands has decided to improve the transportation facility for these passengers.
In this regard, from May 6, 2024, service of electric buses will be available to provide connectivity between airport passenger terminal, Haddo, Phoenix Bay Jetty, Bus Terminus and other important points in the city. It will benefit mainly senior citizens, especially abled, children etc. apart from other commuters.
The schedule of buses has been prepared by taking into account the arrival/departure timing of flights and ships/ferries and the same is detailed below:

After arriving at the Veer Savarkar International Airport, interested passengers can now avail the bus service not only to reach various destinations in the city but also avail the ferries operating from Haddo Jetty and Phoenix Bay Jetty. Similarly, passengers reaching Haddo Jetty / Phoenix Bay Jetty can now avail the bus from the Jetty itself. Passengers arriving at the Airport can now go towards Garacharma as well as Aberdeen Bazaar area.
