Port Blair, Sept 27:The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), admits the students for January session (Calendar year) as well as July session (Academic year). For fresh students, the Induction Meeting is regularly conducted to brief IGNOU methodology and schedule of activities. One such Induction Meeting for July-2018 session students is organized by Regional Centre, Port Blair here through Doordarshan Kendra-Port Blair channel on Friday, 28th September, 2018 at 6.40 PM (after the news). Nearly 1500 freshers from Campbell Bay, Car Nicobar, Nancowrie, Hut Bay, Mayabunder and Port Blair will be watching and participating in the said event. The Regional Centre has already conducted Induction Meeting through e-mail mode, (by mass mailing the power point slides); and face-to-face mode at RC building itself (for small groups). Through print media, the content of Induction Meeting has also provided alongwith IGNOU student Identity Card. The powerful electronic visual media-Doordarshan- is used for the first time by IGNOU-Port Blair, to reach every student at his/her door-step.
