Major Break through – Contraband Ganja Seizes Under NDPS Act at PS Diglipur

Port Blair, March 30: To conquer the menace of illicit ganja in N&M Andaman District, PS Diglipur proved their mettle once again by ongoing tough against the drug peddlers.

Based on credible information received, a raiding team led by Inspector K. Binoj, SHO, PS Diglipur, conducted a raid in the Madhupur area. The team, which included SI Abdul Shakil and PCs Abubacker Siddique, Debsai Toppo, Soma Dey, Rajkumari, and Mirthunjoy Das, along with two independent witnesses, was supervised by Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, SDPO Diglipur.

The team reached Madhupur near the DB Gram road and concealed themselves. Shortly after, a suspicious individual was observed approaching from the main road. The raiding team swiftly intercepted him and conducted a search, resulting in the discovery of 130 grams of illicit ganja in the possession of Jagadish Ch. Das. Jagadish Chandra Das S/o Mr. Jugal Chandra Das (27) yrs R/o Madhupur Ward No. 2 was arrested and a case have been registered at PS Diglipur under NDPS Act against the accused. During investigation from the accused, he revealed that he received the illicit ganja from Amar Nandi R/o Caddlegunj. On this, the raiding team detained Amar Nandi and during interrogation he admitted his guilt and disclosed that he gave the illicit ganja to Jagadish Chandra Das and after observing all codal formalities, Amar Nandi S/o Mr. Rakhal Nandi (27) Yrs R/o Caddlegunj was arrested.

The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
