Port Blair, July 13: As part of the month-long celebration of 70th Van Mahotsav-2019, a mass tree planting programme was organized by the Forest Extension & Publicity Division of the Department of Environment & Forest, in the premises of Govt. Primary School, Mazhar Pahar recently. The students, teachers, the staff of the School participated in the event by planting fruit-bearing, flower-bearing & shade bearing plants in the school campus. Similarly, tree planting programme was organized in the premises of Radha Govind Temple School, RGT Road in the presence of Shri Jai Kumar Roy, Manager RGT School.
Shri Ayyub Hassan, DFO FE&PD briefed about the importance of Van Mahotsav and requested the students and the members of the School to come forward and plant at least one tree each in their own land for future basic needs. The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri S. K. Roy, Forest Ranger Forest Extension & Publicity Division.
