Meeting of Executive Committee Members of ACCI & British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata to Strengthen Understanding & Cooperation

Port Blair, Sep 08: The Executive Committee Members of Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) convened a meeting with Mr. Nicholas Low, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata and Mr. Arunabha Bhattacharya, Political Analyst, British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, today at Hotel Bay Island.

Mr. Mohd. H. Jadwet, Past President ACCI & Mr. G.Dhinakaran, General Secretary ACCI welcomed the Dignitaries of British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata. Mr. Mohd. H. Jadwet gave a brief introduction of ACCI, its associations and role in welfare of business community, general public and assistance in formulation of policies for A&N Administration and GoI. He also elaborated about the potential area of trade & investment like coconut based products, fisheries products, tourism, infrastructure development, shipping etc. He also discussed the constraints of the Island conditions.

 Mr. Nicholas Low explained about the UK relationship with India and their efforts in enhancing partnership and strengthening UK & India relationship and the theme of Road Map prepared for 2030. He also gave a brief scenario of Business & Trade potential of the UK & European Union. He proposed UK support for Island students for specialized programmes in the UK and promoting tourism in the Islands.  

The ACCI assured for all co-operation and support with the British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata to strengthen, and bilateral relationship.
