Member of Parliament demands weekly three line-boats between Port Blair- Shaheed Dweep-Swaraj Dweep- Kadamtala- Rangat and Long Island

Port Blair, Jun 22: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to provide weekly three line-boats between Port Blair- Shaheed Dweep-Swaraj Dweep- Kadamtala- Rangat and Long Island so that people can travel between these Islands easily.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary the Member of Parliament mentioned that  for a long time the line-boat service between Port Blair- Shaheed Dweep-Swaraj Dweep- Kadamtala- Rangat and Long Island was withdrawn.
 
He added that although later the service was resumed, but still people of Shaheed Dweep are not getting sufficient tickets in the ferry and hence they are facing numerous problems and many residents are getting stranded in other Islands for a long time.
 
He added that presently as per schedule only two ferries have been provided in a week in this route and in every ferry a very limited number of seats are reserved for Shaheed Dweep residents.
 
Considering the problem being faced by people of Shaheed Dweep, he requested the Chief Secretary to provide weekly three line-boats between Port Blair- Shaheed Dweep-Swaraj Dweep- Kadamtala- Rangat and Long Island.
