MP requests Admn to conduct written examinations for different posts on different dates.

Port Blair, July 01: Responding to the grievances brought to the notice of Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, MP by the aspiring candidates with regard to conduct of written examinations for the posts of Inspector and Lab. Assistant in the Fisheries department and LGC in the Civil Court, Port  Blair fixed on the same date i.e. 14.07.2019, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament immediately took up the matter with the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands requesting therein to consider for conduct of written examination for any one of the post on 14.07.2019.

Shri Sharma, MP in his letter addressed to Lt. Governor stated that the written examination for the posts of Inspector and Lab Assistant in the Fisheries department and that of the post of LGC in the Civil Court, Port Blair are fixed on 14.07.2019.   Many candidates by virtue of their eligibility as per the Recruitment Rules, have applied simultaneously for all these posts but due to scheduled date for conduct of written examination for all these 03 posts falling on the same date i.e.14.07.2019, such eligible candidates are unable to attend the written examination for the posts applied by them.

Shri Sharma, MP has further stated that unemployment is one of the major concerns for the educated unemployed youths of these islands and job opportunities in the Govt. departments are also getting limited as  the vacancies are arising only out of promotion/ death/ retirement etc. So, conduct of recruitment examination/test on the same day for three different post deprives the aspiring candidates of the opportunity to appear in the recruitment examination/test.

Taking into above said aspects, Shri Sharma, MP has requested the Lt. Governor to consider conduct of recruitment test for any one of the posts on 14.07.2019 and for the remaining two posts on two different dates as per convenience to the respective departments.
