Painting Competition and Orchid show during Orchid Conference at CIARI

ort Blair, Feb 08: The orchid society of India (TOSI), Department of Botany, Punjab University, Chandigarh is organizing a National Conference on “ Recent Advances in Orchidology with special emphasis on Biology, Climate Change, Conservation and Commercialization of Floriculturally & Therapeutically Important Taxa for the Welfare of Science and Society” from 15th to 17th February, 2019 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair in collaboration with ICAR-CIARI, Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration and Botanical Survey of India, Kolkata.
As part of this conference, a painting competition is scheduled to be held at 2.30 PM on 15th February, 2019 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair with on the spot theme and held under three categories for school children, Category 1 : Class I to IV, Category II : Class V to VIII and Category III : Class IX to XII. Interested students may register their names for the competition over through phone call or in person to Dr. V. Beside an orchid show will also be organized during 15th & 16th February, 2019 at Garacharma Research Complex of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair wherein and interested farmers, entrepreneurs and students can show case the exhibits of orchid biodiversity, as said in a press release by S.K. Zamir Ahmed, CIARI.
