ort Blair, Feb 08: The orchid society of India (TOSI), Department of Botany, Punjab University, Chandigarh is organizing a National Conference on “ Recent Advances in Orchidology with special emphasis on Biology, Climate Change, Conservation and Commercialization of Floriculturally & Therapeutically Important Taxa for the Welfare of Science and Society” from 15th to 17th February, 2019 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair in collaboration with ICAR-CIARI, Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration and Botanical Survey of India, Kolkata.
As part of this conference, a painting competition is scheduled to be held at 2.30 PM on 15th February, 2019 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair with on the spot theme and held under three categories for school children, Category 1 : Class I to IV, Category II : Class V to VIII and Category III : Class IX to XII. Beside an orchid show will also be organized during 15th & 16th February, 2019 at Garacharma Research Complex of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair wherein and interested farmers, entrepreneurs and students can show case the exhibits of orchid biodiversity, as said in a press release by S.K.
