PS Billiground Police Crackdown: 500 Litres of Illicit ‘Lehan’ Destroyed in Govindpur-2 Jungle Raid

Port Blair, Mar 27: In a swift and efficient operation carried out on 27/03/2024, the Billiground Police successfully confiscated a significant quantity of illicit liquor at Govindpur-2 forest, Badamnallah.

Acting promptly on a tip, SI M.V Shiju Kumar, SHO, PS Billiground formed a specialized team consisting of ASI Muchray munda, I/c ,OP Badamnallah, ASI (IRBn) Rajni Babu, PCs Anurudra Mondal  and  Mustafa. The proactive team successfully seized a significant quantity of 500 liters of Lehan, along with 03 Nos. iron drums, 04 Nos. plastic jerricane, various utensils, and timber materials used in the production process. These materials were clandestinely hidden within the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network. 

The entire operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District. 

The general public is requested to pass and share any credible information pertaining to any crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or over phone No.100, 112 & 03192-273344. The identity of the informers will be kept secret and will also be suitably rewarded.
