Traffic Police Concludes 30th Road Safety Week

Port Blair, Jan 13: Road Safety Week that was being celebrated by Traffic Police since 07th January, 2019 came to an end yesterday. A bike rally was organized by the traffic officials yesterday to reach the public to increase awareness about road safety.
While many programmes on road safety have been organised by the traffic police, a unique initiative of DGP Mr. Dependra Pathak has caught the imagination of general public. Under this initiative, the violators were made to write a pledge that they will obey the traffic rules in future. The police officials believe that it will inculcate a sense of self-regulation in the people. Around 400 people have taken this pledge during this week, many of which are the drivers of the heavy vehicles.
A prize distribution programme for the winners of the drawing competition on Road Safety was also organized by the traffic police near Flag Host, South Point in the evening yesterday.
