Port Blair, Jan 07: The Andaman and Nicobar Command carried out two medical evacuations in the past twenty four hours. In a medical evacuation carried out on the intervening night of 03rd and 04th Jan 19, a 23 years old female patient, Mrs Suchitra Mondal wife of Mr Indrajit Mondal resident of Diglipur was evacuated to Port Blair. The woman, diagnosed with Ectopic pregnancy needed surgical intervention and emergency air evacuation. Reacting quickly to the request Andaman and Nicobar Command, immediately launched an Indian Air Force MI-17, Helicopter from Carnicobar in the night. The aircraft successfully evacuated the female patient to Port Blair at midnight. In another medical emergency of snake bite at North Cinque Island, a 45 year old male patient, Mr Birsa Katchap was evacuated to Port Blair at around nine this morning by Coast Guard Chetak helicopter. As of last reports both patients are under treatment at GB Pant Hospital, Port B
