Indonesian Coast Guard Ship Visit to Port Blair

Port Blair, May 12: Indonesian Coast Guard Ship ‘KN Tanjung Datu’ (BAKAMLA) is scheduled to visit Port Blair from 13-16 May 19 along with a high level Delegation lead by First Admiral Dade Rusnadar, Act. Deputy of Information, Law and Co-operation. The aim of this goodwill visit is to enhance bi-lateral cooperation between Coast Guard of two countries. The ship will enter Port Blair today wherein she will be hosted by Indian Coast Guard at Haddo jetty.

The ship ‘KN Tanjung Datu’ is a Patrol Vessel and has an overall length of 110 M and gross tonnage of 2,744 Metric Tonnes. The ship has a complement of 25 Officers and 40 sailors.

During her stay at Port Blair, various professional exchanges including Table Top exercise and Sea Exercise will be conducted for enhancing domain expertise of personnel from both Coast Guards. Indian Coast Guard will also conduct a pollution response demonstration, visit to Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Port Blair) and Remote Operations Centre (PBR) for the visiting delegates to showcase the our capabilities.

In addition to professional interactions, the Indonesian CG (BAKAMLA) will be exposed to the rich history of these pristine Islands. Indonesian Coast Guard Ship ‘KN Tanjung Datu’ will depart Port Blair on 16 May 19 post sea exercise. A Communique received from PRO Coast Guard said.
