Blood Donation Camp Organised by Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust at Blood Bank, G.B.Pant Hospital

Port Blair, June 15:  On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust had organized a voluntary blood donation camp at Blood Bank at G.B. Pant Hospital in association with Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) dated 14th June 2021. The camp was organized under the leadership of Dr. Kodand Ram, Chief Medical officer, Blood Bank, G.B. Pant Hospital, and Dr. M. Joy, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society.

The main objective of the blood donation camp was to provide blood to needy people who can’t afford life-saving blood for themselves or their family members because of the ongoing pandemic.

A total of 31 donors donated voluntarily. After donating the blood, the donors’ were honored with credentials by our trust. Also, refreshment was given by ANACS. This camp not only created awareness among the volunteers’ but also inculcated societal responsibilities. Further, the donors’ enthusiastically participated in this noble event.

“Someone lives saved through somebody’s blood donation. Sympathy alone cannot save people in chronic conditions, but blood can. A unit of blood donated save three lives, and this was the stronghold that inspired the trust into an impressive turnout for this noble cause.”
