Port Blair, May 08: Mr. Mitun Das, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Ramnagar met the Secretary (RD, PRIs & ULBs) and Director (RD, PRIs & ULBs) during his current official tour to Port Blair on 08th May 2022 and took suggestions to develop the rural village of Ramnagar.
Mr. Mithun Das submitted a letter and discussed the issue pertaining to roads under PMGSY-II and requested the urgent approval of repair work of the roads under GP Ramnagar where the bus service is barred by the STS Diglipur unit due to the non-motorable condition of the road.
He emphasized that due to the non-availability of bus services commuters are forced to walk up to 7km for taking any transport service. Students, Senior Citizens and Medical Patients are the primary sufferers of this miserable condition.
After hearing about the genuine issue about the road condition and bus service, both the Secretary and Director assured of its immediate solution and the secretary suggested the Pradhan for its repairing by meeting with the Executive Engineer (PRIs N&M).
Mr. Das also met with the Director of Health and requested the immediate posting of a permanent Health Officer at sub-centre Ramnagar with direction to reside at the quarter attached to the sub-centre building for attending any emergency case at Ramnagar village.
As the PHC is at a distance of 14km and it is always not feasible to get ambulance service at Ramnagar and he also requested the director of health for the official opening of one newly constructed sub-center which was completed during SAGY-plan but still waiting for its official opening to give the service to the general public.
Meanwhile, the Pradhan submitted a letter to the Director of State Transport and requested the resumption of bus service from Diglpur to Rangat via Ramnagar, so that ATR passengers may get the connectivity with ATR Bus at Kalara junction.
