Port Blair, Feb 24: To commemorate the 20th International mother language day, a cultural get together was organised by Aditya Natya Academy (An eminent theatre group in Islands) in its premises on 21st February at 1900 Hrs. A couple of songs and poetry recital was presented by the Academy artists.
Mr. Chittanranjan Roy, Ex In-charge, Chouldari Govt. Middle School spoke at length on the significance of the observance of the Day. A musical feature titled “AMI BANGLAR GAAN GAI” compiled by Smt. Kaveri Debsharma was presented by Nandalal Debsharma, Anadiranjan Bhattacharjee, Sampa Sarkar, Sujata Roy Choudhury and Smt. Kaveri Debsharma. The programme was conducted by the General Secretary A.R. Bhattacharjee while Mr. Avijit Sarkar proposed the vote of thanks.
