Awareness Program on PMEGP at Katchal Island

Katchal, Dec 12: District Industries Centre, Andaman & Nicobar Administration organized awareness-cum-motivational campaign on Prime Ministers Employment Generation Scheme (PMEGP) and other govt. sponsored schemes of Line Departments of Andaman & Nicobar Administration at Katchal Islands on 12th December, 2018.
The main objective of the program were to disseminate information about self employment schemes such as Prime Ministers Employment Generation Scheme (PMEGP) and Govt. Sponsored Schemes being implemented by Line Department of A & N Administration which provides gainful employment opportunities to the unemployed youths.
The Program was organized in association with Andaman & Nicobar Sate Cooperative Bank, Department of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry & Vety. Services, Department of Fisheries, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghtan, SRO, Katchal and Tribal Council.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Vinay Kumar Jindal, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry Division, encourage the educated unemployed youths to avail the benefits of the scheme so as to take self employment as a carrier. He urged the youths to identify the activity of their choice and approach the concerned department. He further assured that he shall extend full support to the youths in this. Mr. Micheal Yok, Chief of Tribal Council, Katchal actively participated in the program.
In the campaign resource person from DIC, Department of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Vety. Services, Agriculture, NYKS, ANSCB explained in detail about the various program and assistance provided by the respective departments towards promotion and growth of self employment.
Mr. Jawahar Lal Das (Economic Investigator), DIC explained in details about the eligibility condition and other parameters of Prime Ministers Employment Generation Program (PMEGP).
Altogether, 46 persons including Chief Captains, Vice Captains and Village Captains attended the campaign. Interest candidates were provided with on the spot handholding support by filling up forms under PMEGP. Earlier Mr. P.G. Abhilash, IPO, DIC welcomed the gathering.
