Port Blair, Mar 10: Continuing its drive against bootlegger and contraband substance Central Crime Station on 07/03/2019 after gathering intelligence regarding transportation and resale of liquor in Kamraj Nagar, Bird line Area. Constituted a police raiding team comprising of SI Mohammed Elias, PS CCS, Police constable N. Thangaraj, K. Rajendran , Chandran , headed by Inspr. Mahesh Yadav, Station House Officer, PS CCS succeeded to apprehend one person namely K.P Raju R/o Police Line and recovered 104 IMFL bottles from his possession at Kamraj Nagar near Army Gate. All the recovered IMFL bottles were seized on the spot and accused was booked under relevant section of law. The raid conducted by the staff of P.S CCS was supervised by of Mr. George Lalu, Dy.SP (CID).
The PS CCS staff is working hard to eradicate the menace of bootlegging and illegal sale of illicit liquor. Vigorous efforts are being made to tight the drug peddlers, so that the youth and society does not fall prey to them.
Andaman & Nicobar police is keeping strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of Illegal Liquor and narcotics substance in these Islands. Meanwhile, public have been requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling and any illegal activity on the telephone: numbers: 233307, 232586, 100 & 9474233832. The identity of the informant will be kept secret, as said in a communication by Jatin Narwal, IPS, Sr. Superintendent of Police (CID), Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
