Central Crime Station arrests 01 drug peddler with banned tablets

Port Blair, July 01: Central Crime Station in its continuous efforts and crackdown against drug-paddlers & contraband in A&N Islands, has arrested one drug peddler. On 29/06/2019 a team comprising Inspector Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS CCS, ASI Vijay Shankar, Constable P. K. Mondal, H. K. Yadav and Rajendran conducted a raid at Namunaghar junction and apprehended one person namely Mohammed Mustafa S/o Moideen Kutty (24) R/o Ograbraj near Mazar and recovered 07 Strips containing 105 Nitrazepan tablets and 05 Strips containing 120 Spasmo Proxyvon Tablets from his possession. The banned tablets were seized on the spot and Accused was arrested under the relevant sections of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. The entire raid was commanded by Dy.SP(CID) Shri. M. K. Shukla and the overall supervision of Shri. Manoj C, SP(CID).

The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these Islands free from anti social activity and keeping strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substance in these Islands. General Public has been requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, 9474233832, 9476051686 & 9531856294. The informer will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
