With great happiness I note the award winning performance of cyclists from the Islands – Sri Esow Alben who won 2 gold medals and Ms Deborah Herald who won a silver medal in the recently concluded Track Asia Cup-2018 at Delhi. It is a moment of great pride and honour that India has won the top spot in the championship bagging 6 Gold medals, 5 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals, in which contributions from cyclists from the Islands of Andaman & Nicobar has been remarkable.
The hard work, determination, perseverance and pursuit of excellence are marks of a true sportsperson, which when culminating into recognition at international levels bring happiness to all fellow citizens. I am certain that with their continued passion the sportspersons of A&N will continue to bring name and fame to the country and the Islands.
