Cricket Association Andaman and Nicobar Islands (CAAN) Pays Tribute with Inaugural Ajay Trophy Tournament

Port Blair, May 02: Cricket Association Andaman and Nicobar Islands (CAAN) proudly announce the commencement of the Ajay Trophy Tournament, a fitting tribute to the Late Ajay Singh, a stalwart of cricket in the region. 

The tournament’s opening ceremony, held at the Netaji Stadium in Port Blair on May 1st, witnessed a momentous occasion as it was inaugurated by esteemed dignitaries including the Mr. Keshav Chandra,  Chief Secretary of the A&N Administration and Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Police.

Expressing gratitude, CAAN extended heartfelt thanks to the Chief Secretary and the DGP for their unwavering support and encouragement in honoring the legacy of Late Ajay Singh through this prestigious tournament.

The inaugural function was marked by vibrant cultural programs, showcasing the rich heritage and diversity of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Adding to the excitement, a friendly match between A&N Command and A&N Police captivated the audience, with A&N Police emerging victorious by 34 runs in a thrilling encounter.

The excitement of the inaugural match was further amplified by live broadcasting on the OFSSEAD TV YouTube channel, allowing cricket enthusiasts from across the globe to witness the exhilarating action unfold in real-time.
