Port Blair, July 13: A handicraft making competition for female was organized by the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Nicobars District in the conference hall of EOC, Kamorta yesterday (July 12, 2019) under the scheme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. A large number of students from various schools of Nancowry participated in the handicraft making competition.
The Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry, Shri Vinay Kumar Jindal, The Commanding Officer, INS Kardip and Commanding Officer, ICGS, Kamorta inaugurated the competition and lauded the talents of participants. He stated that the participants will make the handicrafts alive in Nancowry Sub-Division and their participation in the competition will further motivate the elders to shine in the field of handicrafts. A panel of judges selected the best three handicrafts and the winners will be awarded on the occasion of Independence Day, 2019.
