Health Camp Organized at India Reserve Battalion Headquarters, Port Mout

Port Blair, Apr 28: In a collaborative effort between the India Reserve Battalion, A&N Police and the Department of Health Services (DHS), a comprehensive health camp was successfully conducted today at the battalion headquarters. The event aimed to promote preventive healthcare measures and raise awareness about critical health issues among a total of 80 participants, including IRBn personnel and their families. The event featured several key initiatives such as:

Screening Camp for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): Vital health assessments were provided to detect and manage conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, underscoring the importance of early detection and intervention in combating the rising burden of NCDs.

BCG Vaccination Campaign: Highlighting the significance of immunization in preventing Tuberculosis (TB), the BCG vaccination campaign aimed to contribute to the goal of eliminating TB and ensuring community well-being.

Ayurveda Medical Camp: Traditional healthcare services and consultations were provided to attendees, emphasizing a holistic approach to wellness by integrating Ayurvedic principles for promoting overall health.

Awareness Talk on ‘World No Tobacco Day’: An informative talk was delivered to educate the community on the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and the importance of tobacco cessation, aligning with the global initiative to raise awareness about tobacco-related health risks.

The success of this health camp was made possible by the collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals, including Dr. Snegda Biswas, Incharge MO HWC Chouldari, Dr. Keerthi, MO (Ayurveda) HWC Chouldari, along with two intern doctors, one public health nurse, one community health officer, one malaria surveillance worker, and two ANMs, who provided invaluable support and assistance throughout the event.

Under the able guidance of Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivatsava, DGP, ANI, and under the supervision of Ms. Sindhu Pillai A, IPS, IGP, ANI, Smt. Monika Bharadwaj, DIGP(IRBn) & Ms. Shweta K Sugathan, Commandant(IRBn), the event underscore A&N Police’s unwavering commitment towards promoting health initiatives and ensuring the well-being of our hardworking police personnel.
