Port Blair, July 03: An information regarding presence of Ganja in the jurisdiction of PS Diglipur was received in the Police Station. The details were conveyed to Sh. Mohd. Umar, DySP (Diglipur) and the raid was conducted on the suspected premise after following due procedure. In the raid, more than 2 kilograms of Ganja was recovered by the raiding team from the possession of the accused who was identified as Nirod Biswas, resident of R.K. Gram, Diglipur. A case was registered under appropriate sections of law and the accused was arrested.
The entire operation was commanded by Inspector Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO PS Diglipur under the direct supervision of Shri Mohd. Ummar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Diglipur).
The district police observes zero tolerance towards drugs. A few days back also, 256 grams of Ganja was seized from one Dweepa Mondal, resident of Krishnapuri village.
