Nancowrie Police Recovers Illicit Liquor Processing Materials during Jungle Search

Port Blair, Mar 28: To curb the menace of illicit liquor in the society and also to ensure a free and fair environment for successful completion of Lok Sabha Election, two police team comprising SI Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Nancowrie, 2) SI Nixon Issac, 3) HC/557 Raghu Kujur, 4) HC/1209  A. K. Singh, 5) HC/2015 Sumanglam, 6) PC/2654 Rajeshwar Rao, 7) PC/2405 K. Abdul Salam , 8) PC/1211 Sngidha Mistry, 9) HG/R/638 Nagaveni, 10) HG/R/301 Sherlin Charles,  11) HC/041 Abdul Sammad, IRBn, 12) Ct/289 Harikant, IRBn  13) Ct/619 Nagaraj, IRBn 14) Ct/765 Taradeep Ekka, IRBn  15) Ct/744 J.P. Barla have conducted a surprise jungle search on 27/03/2019 at 0500 hrs. During the search operation conducted near Chota Ennaka Jungle, behind Chota Ennka School, Kamorta Nancowrie teams recovered 260 litres of processed liquid raw materials used for distillation of country made illicit liquor, and 01 No. Iron drum having capacity of 200 litres used for distillation of country made liquor. Further no one was present on the spot to claim the said illegal property. So the entire material was seized U/s 25 Police Act 1861. Interrogation and search is continued in the suspected area. Further general public is hereby requested to pass any kind of information about illegal activities on Phone No. 03193-263464 & 100.  The informer name will be kept secret and he/she will be given suitable reward for passing such kind of information, said Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District in a press release.
