New works for water conservation, rainwater harvesting inaugurated

Port Blair, July 28: As a part of Jal Shakti Abhiyan, new works of Water Conservation and Rain Water Harvesting/renovation of traditional water bodies have been initiated under the aegis of ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’ in convergence with MGNREGA, South Andaman District. Further, as directed by the District Programme Coordinator (DC, SA), MGNREGA, South Andaman District, Mr Udit Prakash Rai, the SDM (SA), Mr Mukesh Rajora, AC (Settlement), Mr Ajit Singh Thakur, Director (RD, PRIs & ULBs), Dr. Nidhi Sarohe, Sr. Programme Officer/BDO, MGNREGA, C.D Block Ferrargunj, Mr Rajender Pal inaugurated the following works in the presence of the respective Gram Pradhans, PRI members & MGNREGA Officials on July 26, 2019.

These works may generate a total of 8228 Mondays with an approximate estimate cost of Rs 2117000/-.
