Port Blair, April 10: Elaborate arrangements were made by the Office of the Returning Officer, A&N Parliamentary Constituency for the distribution of polling materials to the polling parties on April 10, 2019. Distribution of the poll materials to the polling parties of Ferrargunj and Port Blair Tehsils started from Netaji Stadium in the early morning hours. Polling Stations assigned to each Polling Party were also disclosed to the polling parties during the distribution of polling materials. The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Mr. K R Meena and the Returning Officer, A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency, Mr. Udit Prakash Rai were also present on this occasion.
The Polling Parties of Port Blair Tehsil pertaining to Strait Island, Rut Land, Badakhari and Polling Stations of Swaraj Dweep & Saheed Dweep proceeded to their respective polling Stations early in the morning hours by Boat/Denghie soon after receiving the poll materials.
Thereafter, the polling teams of Ferrargunj and Port Blair Tehsils received the poll materials and proceeded to their assigned polling stations.
JNRM has been designated as the Collection Centre for the polled EVMs. Arrangements have been made by the Office of the Returning Officer, A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency to collect the polled EVMs soon after the completion of Polling at 6 PM tomorrow (April 11).
